Luostarinmäki 1827

360˚ virtual exhibition

Welcome to Luostarinmäki in 1827! Wander Luostarinmäki’s lanes virtually in the time before the Great Fire of Turku. Explore a residential quarter and landscape on the outskirts of the city from 200 years ago!

About the exhibition

Luostarinmäki is an old Turku residential area, part of which was preserved as an outdoor museum in 1940. Extensive research into fire insurance records, building plans and illustrations of the city takes a visible form in a 360° virtual exhibition, which was created using 3D modelling. What was Luostarinmäki like before the Great Fire? Join us on a voyage back in time!
