The Baltic Sea's Heritage
The John Nurminen Foundation ‘The Baltic Sea’s Heritage’ exhibition is an introduction to the Foundation’s maritime culture collection and environmental work, highlighting the stories behind them. This virtual exhibition is for everyone interested in maritime culture and in Baltic Sea conservation. The mission of the Foundation is to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage for future generations.
About the exhibition
The core themes of the exhibition are myths, threats, courage, hope and gratitude. The exhibition includes the gripping tale of the M/S Leena, a look at maps of the mythical Far North, a rescue dive amidst blue-green algae, a selection of wonderful maritime art and a test to find out what every one of us can do to help the Baltic Sea. Finally, we say thank you to our unique sea.
