Knowledge of history helps find an answer to many questions, such as how the present-day society was formed; where we come from; and how the past and future are intertwined. Knowing history makes it easier to understand the world.<\/p>\n

Access to history, art and cultural heritage is a right we all share. Digitalisation offers new solutions and opportunities for this. Online services and content are available to everyone on an equal basis free from the constraints of time and place.<\/p>\n

The new digital museum Digimuseo.fi established by the Finnish Museums Association and the John Nurminen Foundation responds to this need and seizes this opportunity. The abnormal conditions, in which we are currently living, add special value to the new digital museum.<\/p>\n

The ambitious goal of the service now being inaugurated is to achieve a key role as a platform for the digital services provided by Finnish museums. Digimuseo.fi harnesses the advanced technological expertise we have in Finland.<\/p>\n

We wish the best success for Digimuseo.fi as well as the Pharmacy Museum, the Finnish Museum of Agriculture Sarka and the Helin\u00e4 Rautavaara Museum, now setting up their first exhibitions in the new museum. For all visitors to the digital museum, we hope you experience rewarding moments while enjoying these new cultural offerings.<\/p>\n
